Tech. Com #9: "To Cheat, or Not to Cheat"

For me, cheating is not suitable for student who still learning to get or achieve a good result in their semester examination. When student cheating in examination, this thing can be taken as a serious offense because this will broke rule of the university if their get caught. Their moral integrity as a student also will down because their cheating. I strongly agree if board of a university take a serious offense such as expel from the university to the student who get caught cheating in their examination. As a part of student, we have moral integrity that strongly contributes to the nation of being human, and thus we have a duty to check or caught student who cheating.

Are you really going to pass the final exam if your homework has been done for you? Most of the time, professors don't even consider homework a big percentage of the grade, so if you're looking up answers to your homework problems and not really figuring out how to solve by yourself, you're going to hurt yourself when it comes to the final exam.

Tech. Com #8: A Positive Thing that I'm Going to Do During the Mid-Semester Break is ...

After spend several months to focus on study, all students will have a mid-semester break. This mid-semester break usually is between one to two weeks. This break time should be use by the students to doing something that bring benefit to them. Student can do a tuition class, doing a part time job, and doing some charity work. For me, this mid-semester break I want to do many things such as:

  • I want to take a vacation with my family because only this time I and my family can have time to hang out together.

  •  Secondly I want to help my parent to do something such as clean up house.

  • I also want to meet my friends in this mid-semester break because my friends also students like me and we only have time to meet each other when semester break only.
  • Do the work or assignments.

  • Study for the text that will come after this mid-semester break.

As a university student, they should use their mid-semester break time wisely.

Tech. Com #7: Students must vote during the 'Students' Election' because....

In my opinion, all students should vote in the student’s election. Voting is not a right that everyone in the world has. The student election represents our rights, as Malaysian, to choose the suitable representative that will serve us best. It can prepare students to get ready to vote in our country as a citizen. It can persuade them to vote and choose the suitable representative for our country.
For me, the student election taught me many things. This election taught me how to choose the best representative who will be my voice to get what we want as a student, what they want to do after be select as a student representative and can they cope with the student issues. I also had to do research so I could make the best choice. The first thing that came to my attention when I started to vote was how little I actually knew about the candidates and what issues they advocated.

Everyone in this world have the authority to choose between Good and Bad. If you research about the person who deserves to be in the position and vote him/her, you did a good Job. If you choose to shut up and sell your vote, your non-sense.

Tech. Com #6: Great Leaders are not born, they are made.

“The leader of a group of people or an organization is the person who is in control of it or in charge of it.”- Collins Cobuild Dictionary

“Leaders are made, not born, and made more by themselves than by any external means. Second that no leader sets out to be a leader, but rather to express himself freely and fully.” – Warren Bennis,

“Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal."
– Vince Lombardi

“Leadership is an observable, learnable set of practices. Leadership is not something mystical and ethereal that cannot be understood by ordinary people. Given the opportunity for feedback and practice, those with the desire and persistence to lead can substantially improve their abilities to do so.” – James Kouzes and Barry Posner

Some people believe that leaders are born with the necessary qualities that make them successful as a leader. While others believe that leadership, like many other similar characteristics, can be learned and developed through life. For me, I think much of the debate depends on how you define leadership. Leaders are made when they understanding their purpose, their unique strengths and have a deep passion to make a difference by living out whom they are in the real world. We're all born with potential and we can all develop the traits of leadership. Leaders are definitely made - not born. But the environment will determine whether potential leaders can develop their talent.

The truth is the most people have the potential to become leaders. The real issue is that leadership takes time to develop
  • People need time to figure out what they’re passionate about
  • People need time to understand their personal vision and purpose
  • People need time to learn how to express who they
  • People need time to learn how to use their unique strengths and skills
  • People need time to learn how to express their purpose in their own unique way.

Tech. Com #5: Birth Order Trait

Believe it or not, there is something that influences your personality even before you take your first breath. This is your birth order. Research shows that a person's birth order has a direct link with his or her personality. This site is dedicated to informing you on how your birth order has shaped you into who you are today, on how your birth order influences your education, and as a guide to both parents and educators on dealing with each specific birth order type

Birth order traits give us insight into one factor of our development. There are many other factors. It is interesting to note the birth order character traits for your own birth order. Many people find it helpful in understanding themselves. Psychologists claim that our birth order determines our character. Previous studies claim, among others, that:
• The eldest child: more responsible, mature, often a perfectionist, a good leader, higher IQ, low self-esteem.
• The middle child (any child born in between the eldest and the youngest): not an over achiever, creative, artistically inclined, often felt neglected, lack of direction.
• The youngest child: often get away with anything, not independent, often not taken seriously.

Let me use me as an example. As an eldest son in my family, when my sister and brother born, I become the oldest child. I become the leader of my sibling and my parents ask me to be more responsible to my siblings. This thing makes me more mature and low self-esteem.

There are fun facts about eldest son:
  • Famous first born children: Walter Conkrite, Dan Rather, Oprah Winfrey, Rush Limbaugh and Arsenio Hall
  • More than 1/2 of the U.S. Presidents were first born children
  • 21 of the 23 first astronauts were first born children
  • 2/3 of entrepreneurs are first born children

But, for my partner Ery, he is a middle son in his family. He think that he often feels left out because he feels a few neglected from his family even he get a happy family. But, the important thing he is kind, helpful and generous to others.

There are fun facts about middle son:
  • Famous middle born children: Donald Trump, Ted Kennedy, Tim Allen, Julia Roberts, and Rosie O'Donnell
  • Love to stand out
  • Want to "do their own thing"

(p/s: I get the fun facts from this http://www.birthorderandpersonality.com/id1.html)

Tech. Com #4: "Do you think we should give monetary incentives to the KP2 students to motivate them to get better grades?"

I don’t think that we should give money as an incentives to the KP2 students to motivate them to get better grades because it more contra than pro. Reason why I mentioned like this because the results of the study showed that bribing students for positive actions and not using negative punishment is effective; however bribing student to improve test scores yielded little or no positive effect. Students, who were paid to alter behavior they were in control of, such as arriving at school on time, completing homework, or wearing uniforms to school, were more successful overall than students paid to do well on exams only.

As we know, students already get their loan every semester and why if we give extra incentives could motivate them. What the differences between loan and extra incentives? Both of them its money right, so if we give them monetary incentives I don’t think they will motivated themselves to get better but will make them become more materialistic and not focus on their study.

Carol Dweck, professor of psychology at Stanford University, believes that students can learn to cultivate an attitude of achievement which she calls a “growth mind-set.” A growth mind-set develops a student’s inner motivation and urges the student to perform at their highest potential. A growth mind-set believes that the ability to learn is cultivated and improved through hard work. In contrast, a student with a “fixed mind-set” gives up when faced with a challenge and believes that intelligence is a fixed quantity which cannot be improved.

“Money gives students a short-term goal, instant gratification and a tangible reason for doing well.”

Science #1:How the ballon float?

Required materials:
-Balloon
-Cardboard
-String
-A pair of scissors

Estimated Experiment Time:
-Less than 5 minutes

Step-By-Step Procedure:
1. Inflate a balloon with warm air and secure tightly with the string
2. Tie a small piece of cardboard to the end of the balloon’s string
3. Adjust the size of the cardboard so that it is heavy enough to keep the balloon from rising
4. Use a pair of scissors and start trimming off small pieces of the cardboard so that the balloon rises above the surface but does not float away and touch the roof

Please takes note:
-Use a closed room where air currents will not alter the course of the experiment.
-Ensure the pieces of cardboard you cut are extremely small in order to save time redoing the exercise!

Observation:
When the right amount of cardboard is cut away, the balloon remains suspended in midair.\

Principle:
The principle behind the experiment is that cool air is heavier and denser than warm air which has a greater degree of buoyancy. The balloon thus remains suspended in the lower part of the room where the air is denser as compared to the areas around the roof which will have comparatively warmer air.

The piece of cardboard balances the weight of air contained in the balloon making it too light to sink into denser air and is too heavy to rise into the warmer air.

Tech. Com #2: If I have the power to rule the world, I would......

“ It’s my own design
It’s my own remorse
Help me to decide
Of freedom and of pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world “
p/s: Tears For Fears ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ Lyrics

Everyone know that all person in this world want to have a power that can be use to rule the world and rule the person in this world, but how if I have a power that I can use to rule the world. What I will do?

Firstly, I want to identify everyone who believes that his ideology should be imposed on everybody else by force, violence and aggression. Deport them all to a single small country. Build a wall around it. Never let anybody out.

Secondly, I will make the world where our parents stay now become a better place and suitable for all ages. No war and no violence. It will become a safest place to be.

Then, I will make my world free from drug and smoker. Free from pollution. Free from something than can harm my world. I want save my environment and save my ecosystems.

Lastly, I will make my people happy to live in this world. Always smile, smile and smile…

Tech. Com #1: My Educational Aspiration for 2011

Assalamualaikum w.b.t...

Hi everyone, before I begin, some brief information about myself.
I'm Ruzaidi Ismadi and now still studying at UniKL MICET to further my study in Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Technology (Hons) in Environment. Though I would aspect to further study at other well known universities, but luck does not side on me.

Now, not-so-briefly, my educational aspirations for 2011 I want to achieve a better result than last semester because last semester I could say that there was a lot playing than study. I was really disappointed by my last semester result, but disappointed doesn't meant to give up. I should begin to study smart to get a better result and also to increase my CGPA for this semester. Apart from that, I also want to get all A’s in all subject that I take for all semester and grades with a flying color.

I realize this post maybe long and probably ambiguous in some spots, but these forums are my best bet for advice on these matters at this point in time. It may be that all of my educational aspirations for this year are premature, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be achieve. So, I should start from now to get all this thing become reality.

Thanks in advance, any advice, input, commentary or insight is most appreciated.
